Cathedral Church of St Peter and the Holy and Indivisible Trinity, Gloucester: the cloister

The foundations of the present cathedral were Abbott Serlo in the late 11th century. Thomas de Cantebrugge designed the magnificent cloisters between 1351 and 1377; they are the earliest examples of fan vaults. Thomas Harris constructed the organ in 1666 and is the only surviving 17th century organ in the UK. It has undergone subsequent renovations.
