The tomb of Dicky Pearce (1665-1728) the court jester to Lord Berkeley. Originally Dicky had been the court jester to the Earl of Suffolk before joining the services of Lord Berkeley. In 1728 during a performance for Lord Berkeley's guests he fell from the minstrel gallery.to his death, but the mystery remains of whether it was an accident, or was he pushed by one of the guests that it is said had been offended by Dicky making fun of him ? - the answer will never be known !!
