Haddon Hall

Haddon Hall is one of my favourite places to visit. It is a fortified medieval manor house owned by the Manners family and walking through the ancient wooden doors is like stepping back in time. The house fell in to disuse in 1703 when the family moved to Belvoir Castle and was only restored in the early part of the 20th century. It retains so many of the original features that it is one of the most fascinating historical houses because very little has change. The gardens are absolutely beautiful as are the views across the countryside and the River Wye.
