Spains Hall.

Spains Hall is an Elizabethan Country House. It has been owned by three families. It was named after Harvey de Ispania who held the Manor in 1086. It was then owned by the Kempe family in the early 15th Century and then it was sold to Samuel Ruggles in 1760. Samuel was a clothier from Bocking, Braintree, Essex. Samuels descendants the Ruggles-Brise family still live in the house. The parkland which surrounds the house was landscaped by Humphry Repton.
