The old Blue Coat School. Built in 1304 as the Chapel of St Thomas when it received licence for devine worship from the Bishop of Salisbury. After falling into disrepair, in 1707 Lady Francis Winchcombe converted it into Blue Coat school. Today it is owned by Thatcham Town Council and is a Grade 1 Listed building. The A4 going past it had always been known as Chapel St. along this section.
