SOUTH WHEAL FRANCES- Marriott's shaft.

This is part of the World Heritage site for Cornish Mining and is part of "The Great Flat Lode", known as such because the seams of ore are nearly always vertical, but in this area where many tons of ore were once won the seams lay almost horizontal, hence the name.
