Bayley Lane, St. Mary's Guildhall

St. Mary's Guildhall is one of the best examples of its kind in the whole of the country. St. Mary's Guildhall first opened its doors in the middle of the 14th century, although its Great Hall dates from slightly later and contains a particularly impressive tapestry. The Guildhall's Mary Queen of Scots Room gained its name as it was here that the famous Scottish Queen was imprisoned in 1569.
