Carnforth Station and Heritage Centre, Carnforth, Lancashire

View of the entrance to Carnforth Station and Heritage Centre, Carnforth, Lancashire, England. The heritage centre opened in 2003 when the station buildings were restored. The station was the location for the filming of the classical film 'Brief Encounter' which shows at the centre when it is open from 10:00 to 16:00 each day. Also the Tea Room provides refreshments and is in the style of the refreshment room in the film. Entry to the visitor centre is free and there are many exhibits to see relating to the railways around Carnforth, the Age of Steam, the War Room and the Bateman Gallery, where a visiting exhibition changes every three months.
