The Great Tower at Greys Court

The Great Tower is the most prominent remaining part of the defences of Greys Court, and dates from the 14th century. A licence to crenellate Greys Court was given in 1346 to Sir John de Grey of Retherfeld (Rotherfield) by King Edward III.
