The old toll house in Tidmarsh

Tidmarsh is a small village at the foot of the eastern Berkshire Downs beside the River Pang. The village is on an old Roman road which ran from Silchester to a river crossing at Pangbourne or possible on to Dorchester-on-Thames. It is likely the village had Saxon origins.
