The Greyfriars Franciscan Chapel Straddling the River Stour

The original 13th century building here was probably at some time a guest house for visitors to the Franciscan Friary, but in the 18th century was used as a prison cell for inmates awaiting transportation to the colonies. Its complete history is too complicated to cover here.
