The Clifton Suspension bridge is considered to be the finest work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel, who in turn is considered one of Britain's greatest engineers of all time. Seen here from its east side, it carries the B3129 road across the Avon Gorge, at 245 feet above a high tide, between Clifton in Bristol and Leigh Woods in North Somerset. When built, it had the longest span of any bridge in the world.
