The Long Gallery in the Great Hall of Winchester

Pride of place in Winchester's Great Hall is given to a table, said to be the actual King Arthur's Round Table. Had King Arthur actually existed, I feel sure he might well have had a table like this, where he and his knights sat in council. The table is said to be very old and was repainted for King Henry VIII in the 16th century, but no proof exists that King Arthur and his knights were anything more than a legend.
