Iconic indeed Martin, the 60" engine house of Towanroath Shaft along with The Crowns at Botallack are the most photographed engine houses in Kernow. For all it's fame though, Wheal Coates was a poor producer of both tin and copper. Working between 1815-1912 only 335 tons of copper and 717 tons of tin were won. But the legacy is there for all of us to see.

Thanks for your informative reply Vince ... I thought these images would interest you.Having taken over 650 worthwhile photos of your beloved Kernow it will be hard to pick only a handful to upload in this era of "less is more" that we seem to have on the site now.
