Saint John the Baptist's, Burringham, Lincolnshire

The Anglican parish church at Burringham sits below the high east bank of the River Trent and is dedicated to St. John The Baptist. Built 1856-7 by S S Teulon of red brick, in the Gothic style, this is an extraordinary composition, both dramatic and original, with its short but massive square tower and pyramid roof. It was declared redundant in 1982, part of the grounds are now used as a nature reserve.
