Doorway of St. James' Church, Reading

The arches have features reminiscent of the Chevrons and Beakheads seen on ancient Norman churches, but the building is in fact 19th century (Architect A.W.N. Pugin). It seems that the Norman Romanesque style was adopted to be in keeping with the ruins of Reading Abbey nearby, which would have been built in this style.
