At he castle gates

this is my grandson at Lancaster castle. It is still a working prison. The guided tour was excellent, particularly the visit to the old dungeons where the Lancashire witches were held before their trials.

steeped in history this castle is open to the public, many where tried and executed here, the most famouse were the so-called lancashire witches, were they just simple folk in the wronge place at the wrong time or persecuted practicing Cathilics. Read 'The lancashire Witches' or 'Mist over Pendle' and visit the area of pendle in east lancashire to form your own judgement.
