Chrome Hill in the Peak District, Derbyshire

Taken from a high point called Merryton Low on the Staffordshire Moorlands. Th evillage of Hollinsclough, Staffordshire lies in the valley in front of Chrome Hill. Chrome Hill is known as a "reef knoll" since it was a reef in a tropical sea some 350 million years ago, buried under sediment but then exposed again by glacier erosion in the ice age.
