The Poppy field

Norfolk is well known for it's poppy fields and they appear in thousands during the late spring and early summer. Mainly due to the old system of crop rotation where the farmers leave fields fallow for a year after three years use. In Norfolk the traditional rotation is Beet, Cereals, Brasica and Fallow.

Great to see poppies all through the fields. So many farmers use the killing spray and you only see them around the margins.
