Turpins Cottage at Sonning-on-Thames

The house seen here was reputedly the home of Dick Turpin's aunt. It was said that after robbing travellers on the nearby Bath Road, the legendary highwayman would leave his horse here and escape through the Churchyard adjacent to the house and across the County border to Oxfordshire.
