Aylesford

Oil on canvas. 18" x 16" In the 1800's the River Medway was the main highway for industry in Kent and Aylesford played a significant role in the barge traffic carrying materials for all kinds activities. It is now a peaceful stretch of water and I have tried to capture the tranquility of this lovely spot in my picture.

Thank you for your kind comment Cathy. For me, Art should be all about pleasure - for the artist and for the viewer. As Renoir said " I make no excuse for painting pretty pictures, as there is enough sadness in this world without me adding to it. I would like to try to add just a little pleasure to help make the day more enjoyable. Kind regards Brian

You most definitely captured the tranquility. It's lovely, and I love the reflections too. Thank you for sharing it with us.
