This image is from an original oil painting by fine artist and illustrator Kevin Parrish. (size 36inx36in) 2006. It depicts St Andrews football ground, Birmingham, during the severe winter of 1947. The match has been postponed and the Groundsman looks on. He is preparing to try and melt the snow with drums full of hot coals called braziers. The Birmingham City manager was Harry Storer from 1945-48 and he led Birmingham to the Second Division title in the 1947-8 season.
