A picture of Bracebridge

Standing by a busy road in the Lincoln suburb of Bracebridge is a memorial to the dead of two World Wars. Inscribed initially with the names of 44 men and the wording "In Proud and Honoured Memory of the Men of Bracebridge who gave their lives for the World's Freedom in the Great War 1914-1919 - LEST WE FORGET - Erected by the grateful inhabitants of Bracebridge" to which was later added the names of 31 men who fell in The Second World War and the inscription " "In Proud Memory of the Bracebridge Men who fell in The Second World War 1939-1945"
