I think you're right Roy, they are Sanderlings. Great picture, they are not easy to capture in flight.

They are sanderlings....calidris alba Roy. The whiteness of the head and belly confirm this, as does the shape of the tail. The only similar bird is the knot, but it flies with its' tail fanned and has different wing patterns.
