Rescued Goldcrest

My boyfriend and I found this tiny Goldcrest on the lawn unable to fly as it had a huge clod of mud stuck to it's foot. He managed to pick it up and we carefully removed the clod. With the mud gone and the warmth of my boyfriends hand it found it's strength and flew off as good as new. It made our day!

What a fabulous pic and a wonderful moment! I've added it to my members tour "Birds - garden" and to the thread English sayings "A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush".

Way to go, both you and your boyfriend. So happy that you saved this little bird, and get a good shot to boot.
