Muntjac Doe, Suffolk

A very small, stocky deer, the Muntjac Deer is about the same size as a medium dog. It is gingery-brown, with a pale underside, they are also known as 'Barking Deer' because of their dog-like calls. this doe had a fawn with her, although nearly as big as her it still followed her and will stay close until a few months before her next one is born when she will drive it away to be independent.
