Teneral Male Ruddy Darter (Sympetrum Sanguineum) Head On in Whiteley Woods

Teneral means immature and we know when a dragonfly is immature because they are born with lighter colours, which change and darken over their first 3 or 4 weeks of life. This Ruddy Darter will have a blood red face and abdomen when he is a fully fledged male.
