Brimstone Butterfly (Gonepterix Rhamni) Male at Thursley Common

Brimstone is the old name for Sulphur and this so named butterfly is the largest of Britain's yellow species, with a wingspan of 65 to 75mm. This specimen was seen at Thursley Common, but they are common and widespread.
