Ringlet (Aphantopus Hyperantus) Male Underwing View at Chobham Common

The Ringlet is a somewhat common brown species, seen in a variety of habitats such as heathland, chalk hills and other grasslands. The upper side of the wings are a uniform chocolate brown, but the insect's name is derived from its underwings, which have a group of rings of alternating shades.
