Scott's View is a viewpoint in the Scottish Borders, overlooking the valley of the River Tweed, which is reputed to be one of the favourite views of Sir Walter Scott.The viewpoint can be located directly from a minor road leading south from Earlston just off the A68 and by travelling north from the village of St. Boswells up the slope of Bemersyde Hill.

St Mary's Abbey, Melrose is a partly ruined monastery of the Cistercian order in Melrose, Roxburghshire, in the Scottish Borders. It was founded in 1136 by Cistercian monks at the request of King David I of Scotland and was the chief house of that order in the country until the Reformation.

The River Teviot, or Teviot Water, is a river of the Scottish Borders area of Scotland, and is the largest tributary of the River Tweed by catchment area.The Teviot is an important river for wildlife, especially the Atlantic salmon, but in recent years, has witnessed at least four extreme flooding events.This picture was taken close to Coldstream.

King David the 1st of Scotland founded the abbey in the 12th Century. The abbey has been raided multiple times by the English from the reformation in in 1560 to1875 when the abbey became the parish church of Jedburgh.
