Uig

The Fraser’s Folly in the foreground. It was built in 1870 on the instruction of Captain Fraser, a landlord and the Laird of Kilmuir. His infamy was to evict crofters from farming land and use it to graze his sheep. The folly is owned by one of the former owners of Uig Hotel and who lives in the village.
