Skaill House

The earliest record of the name is in a rental of 1492, and later records suggest a modest farmstead on the estate of Earl Robert Stewart in the late 16th century. During the trial of his even more notorious son Patric in 1614, the Earldom Estate was broken up and Skaill passed to the bishopric, and so came under the control of Bishop Graham on his appointment in 1615.
