Tis worth a it more than two quid now!

A mint sealed £2 coin celebrating in 2004 the 200th Anniversary of the world's first ever railway locomotive. Cornish inventor Richard Trevithick demonstrated his invention of the high pressure steam locomotive which ran from Penydarren to Merthyr Tydfil on 21st Feb 2004. On this historic journey the locomotive hauled 10 tons of iron in 5 trucks with about 70 men aboard as well. The whole journey was a success except that the tramway rails were not strong enough for such a weight. Stevenson might have been Father of the Railway but it was Trevithick who is Father of the Locomotive!!
