"I worked for the Mersey Docks and Harbour Board from 1963 to 1969, and spent a lot of time at both the head office and working in the Traffic Offices on the docks. I remember the Elder Dempster ships well, including the frequent sight of the Aureol. One of my tasks was to record details of all cargos left on the quayside. Happy days. Thank you Robert. " - Rod Burkey(22nd April 2014)

"Hi David, Yes I have checked the data and it was shot at f18..... I think the f2.8 refers to the lens which is a bit disconcerting." - Patrick Hogan(22nd April 2014)

"Quite a nice landscape with depth of colour and a good foreground." - David Swann(22nd April 2014)

Moonlight Across the River Severn, Beachley.
"An impressive low light shot especially with the starburst effect on the bridge lights. The camera data shows an aperture of f2.8 which is surprising because starbursts are usually associated with much smaller apertures, eg, f16 or f22. A slow shutter speed has also added some nice movement to the water and reflections." - David Swann(22nd April 2014)
