St Arilda's Parish Church, Oldbury-on-Severn.
"Hi Edward, I recently inherited some of my brother-in-law's bird photography lenses. I exchanged one for the D800 and took this with the 300mm f2.8 prime lens. This is a heavy lens and was only on a lightweight tripod. I took the image without a release cable and the mirror was not in the up position so even on timer mode the lens still shook I think. I will experiment with this view when the light is good and use it as a test piece. With a 'solid' tripod I am sure it will be improved. The image was cropped by removing 2/3rds and when I next visit my sister in the USA I will collect the x2 teleconverter that will make the lens a 600mm f4 , this combined with the D800 should be an awesome combination. I am sure the ISO increase would make a difference. I shot it at f11 and focused on the church which is about 0.8 miles from the shore. Maybe a smaller aperture would also help with the overall sharpness. " - Patrick Hogan(7th December 2013)

"Nice scene with good lighting on the church. BTW, was this a crop from a larger image? Whether it was or not, I think some improvement in sharpness in such an extreme telephoto shot might have been obtained by cranking up the ISO setting." - Edward Lever(7th December 2013)
