A picture of St Minver This strange looking tower is an old windmill built in 1844 -St Minver Windmill - standing alone and desolate at the summit of Carlyon Hill near Trevelver SW958754 I originally believed it to be a folly tower but this soon became evident it was a windmill as I approached. Strange and dare I may say somewhat ugly but charming nevertheless, it dominates Carlyon Hill, just crying out to be loved. It can be seen for miles around and the views of the surrounding countryside and the river camel far below are superb. I visited Cornwall in search of the many follies it has to offer, and this old tower was an added bonus!!
