The Liver Birds can be seen on top the Liver Building. The building immediately to the right is the Cunard Building, the square tower seeming to rise from it is the Ventilation Shaft from the Queensway (Birkenhead) Tunnel. The building with the dome is the Mersey Docks and Harbour Building. The dark building cut off on the extreme right is the Anglican Cathedral. This photo was taken about 7:20 pm, the sun was low in the sky behind me in the west. illuminating everything a treat.

Taken from Seacombe prom a few minutes before the previous photo while waiting for the Royal Iris to get into position. The Anglican Cathedral is clearly visible (5th largest in the world?) and the Albert Dock Complex is on the far right. The Tower to the left is St. John's Beacon and just in front is the now dwarfed Parish Church of Liverpool, St. Nicholas' (St. Nicks). The tide is well up. This is the narrowest part of the Mersey estuary, and it's about 1.5km wide. Note there are no bridges.Photo taken with a Canon 35-70mm f4 zoom.
