A picture of Darwen Ashton Park, Darwen, Lancashire. One of the more obscure parks in Darwen, but equally as beautiful on a sunny day. The lake that is seen here was once the lodge,(situated close to the River Darwen), that powered the steam engines that turned out the paper at a nearby building which is now octaveward. Hence the nickname for the park DPM,(Darwen Paper Mill),. This picture appears in the following picture tours: |
