Knitted Remembrance Poppies in the Church, Monyash, Derbyshire A lady church warden told me that the single purple-blue poppy is in remembrance of the animals killed in the Great War - mainly horses and pigeons, obviously. Window, St. Leonard's Church, Monyash, Derbyshire The church was restored in circa 1887 by architect William Butterfield, so this window is highly likely to be his work, in a precursor Art Nouveau style.
