Church of St Mary the Virgin, St Briavels

The church is in front of the Norman castle. It was built around 1144 to a cruciform plan with a central tower and long chancel and it was enlarged in the 13th century. The original tower was removed in 1830 and a new tower built over the south porch.

Bigsweir Bridge, Wye Valley

This elegant iron bridge was designed by Thomas Hollis and cast at Merthyr Tydfil. It was completed in 1827 and links Gloucestershire in England and Monmouthshire in Wales. It was awarded Grade II conservation listing in 1988.
