There is an extensive network of cycle routes and bridleways, that cover a large area of the New Forest National Park. The old railway line from Burley to Lindhurst, forms an integral part of this network. It is also a good 'landmark' for walkers in the area.

Time for lunch in Holmsley Inclosure. Although the forest is extensively managed, large areas are an example of ancient deciduous woodland. The 'inclosures' as they are called on the map and spelt with an I, are forest areas joined together by vast stretches of open heathland.
