A picture of Martin The Anglican parish church in Martin, Lincolnshire, is dedicated to the Holy Trinity. The village of Martin was, in ancient times, known as Merton, a township in Timberland parish. This status changed after a surge in population in the mid 1800's. The Reverend J. W. King who owned the greater part of the land in what was then the township of Martin donated the land and the church was built from 1876 through 1878 on the site. The tower was added in 1911.
