St.Andrew's, Potterhanworth, Lincolnshire The Anglican parish church at Potterhanworth, Lincolnshire, is dedicated to St.Andrew. There was a Saxon church here before the Norman conquest but no trace of it remains today and only the tower remains in evidence of it’s successor the church itself being rebuilt in 1749 when restoration was also carried out on the tower and extra pinnacles were added.. In 1856 the church was again rebuilt having become dilapidated in the interim. The clock, one face of which can be seen in this shot, dates from just before 1900 and at one time it sported four cast iron dials but problems with birds nesting in them led to their removal and replacement with two convex dials This picture appears in the following picture tours: Camera Make: Canon Model: Canon PowerShot A540 |
