Kinema in the Woods, Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire The sleepy little town of Woodhall Spa has a rather unusual attraction in the form of a very quaint and unusual rear-projection system cinema complete with an operational Compton theatre organ which is usually played at the interval during a Saturday evening film performance. It has remained virtually unchanged since it’s opening as a cinema in August 1922 and is still going strong as a family owned, 7 day a week cinema, showing nightly with extra matinees at school holiday times. In this quiet backwater with little other form of entertainment it was popular with the service personnel, from the local RAF bases during WWII, who affectionately christened it 'The Flicks in the Sticks' .
