The Clock Pub, on the left, really called The Imperial Hotel, was not burned down in 2010, but the old Co Op building opposite was! A massive redevelopment was needed but I 'emigrated' to Devon in 2010 and haven't taken any more pictures in the area.

The skyline of Stanley has some unique markers. The church has a spire on the tower, The tower on the right with what seems a cross on top is the water tower of the old Co-Op buildings. They burned down in 2009. The white buildings in the foreground are formed by an industrial estate in Tanfield Lea. Nowadays it's a case of "I remember that!".

On the old railway route, now a footpath, between Consett and Stanley there are a few steel sculptures made from old electrical equipment. This one is called the TRANSFORMER

Causey Arch

This is the World's first railway bridge. It was designed and built by Ralph Wood for a consortium of Durham collieries to carry coal in horse drawn trucks to the River Tyne. Rumour has it that Ralph Wood committed suicide because he thought the bridge wouldn't endure
