Dartmoor - Great Links Torr

Great Links Torr at 586 m above sea level taken from Great Nodden 390 m. This was the 27-Aug-2019 Accessible Walk along Rattlebrook Railway in the Dartmoor Walking Festival. I completed the walk on my mobility scooter!

Dartmoor - Lake Viaduct

Lake Viaduct is now part of the Granite Way footpath/cycleway. It is 140 yards long and has 9 arches. A falling gradient of 1:78 over the granite built viaduct.

Dartmoor ponies, mother and foal, crossing the Rattlebrook railway which goes to the peat cutting area.

Dartmoor turntable area

Reaching the turntable area. The peat filled wagons of the Rattlebrook line were turned around here, because of the line's acute angle, to continue on their way. We used the area for a rest on our walk/ride. We later took the left rising track to view the peat digging area.
