Exmouth Marina Exmouth's colourful Marina is very busy at times. There is a regular Stewart Line cruiser that take trippers up and down the River Exe and also along the Jurassic Coast to see the red rocks as you go sailing by. Vulcan over Exmouth in August 2015 The Avro Vulcan is an iconic example of British aerospace engineering at its world-beating best. Its impressive list of technical achievements includes being the first successful large delta wing aircraft, leading directly to Concorde and the Space Shuttle, and delivering performance and agility so close to a jet fighter’s that it was given a fighter-style control column in place of the traditional bomber pilot’s yoke. Exmouth tree As you leave Exmouth at the eastern roundabout when turning left up Carlton Hill, there is a splendid tree in front of you. If you closely inspect it you can see that the lower branches are held together and supported from the branches above by wire. The buildings behind the tree usually attract your eye more. Exmouth – Fishing vessel Becci of Ladram is a utility vessel based at Exmouth marina. As well as stainless steel ironwork and heavy iroko gunwales, Becci is fitted with a slave hauler on her starboard side and a net hauler on her port side, so that she can undertake potting, netting and angling. Here she is rushing home to Exmouth before the sun goes down.
