Lovely period cottages in East Garston

East Garston is surely one of the prettiest villages in the Berkshire Downs with the River Lambourn running through it and its many picturesque and varied old cottages and houses. Thatched roofs, flint walling, red brick and timber framing are in abundance.

All Saints Church, East Garston

All Saints Church, East Garston

The Church of All Saints in East Garston is approached along a short drive through the grounds of the adjacent Manor Farm. It is Late Norman built of flint, with a later south aisle and porch and a north chancel chapel. The church was heavily restored by the Victorians and little of the original building remains visible apart from the Norman door inside the south porch.
