St. Anne's Church, Epwell, in the late afternoon sunlight

The little village church, St. Anne's, is on a mound, giving it a prominent position in the village, and you can almost imagine sheep grazing in the peaceful grassy churchyard. The building is Early English and several of the windows are Decorated Gothic. The bell tower is Perpendicular Gothic.

The golden ironstone cottages in Epwell glow in the late afternoon sun and to visit parts of the village is like stepping back in time and, if it wasn't for the inevitable parked cars, many vistas in the village have probably changed little for a couple of hundred years.
