which way to go? I got to this point in Highdown Gardens & saw all these different directions to go in. Boy you could be here for ages just going back on yourself. Some look with wonder in Highdown Gardens walking around the grounds of Highdown Gardens you can be surprised at sheer size of some plants you come across. Highdown Gardens trees of many colours It is amazing to walk around these gardens finding the massive range of plant & tree life. Highdown Gardens steps away These steps lead away from one of the pond features & look very impressive in various light. Their is The Cave Pond created on the site of a pigsty & also the Bamboo Pond. Highdown Gardens was created from 1910 onwards & only taken over by Worthing Borough Council in 1967 after the death of Lady Stern. It has a group of volunteers who do much work on the garden to keep it up to it's standard set by the late Sterns. Highdown Gardens ponds what I found impressive which I'm sad to say the camera couldn't capture was these lovely ponds in various spaces around the garden. Highdown Gardens entrance It is crazy to think many go for walk on Highdown Hill & totally miss this entrance just off car park & come away unaware that these gardens are their. Highdown Gardens another path to get lost down It amazed me how many paths there are here you walk around thinking "did I come this way?". Highdown Gardens trees of all shapes Now you can walk in the garden seeing small little young trees which replace many impressive trees that fell in the great storm but turn a corner & come face to face with some big trees that still remain. Highdown Gardens, Hangleton Here is another good example of how well the grounds are set out. You walk off the lawns onto footpath to see at the bath water features. Garden in bloom, Highdown Gardens, Hangleton Highdown Gardens has so many various blooms but the day I was their it was day of the tulips & how colourful they were too. Sad walking around thou seeing the poor daffs that had finished their role in the garden for another year. Follow the sun, Highdown Gardens The paths twist & turn & you walk out to some amazing colourful views. A number of species that can now be found within the garden is a testament to the botanic innovations of the Sterns which started out by them just to see what will grow & thrive on chalk. Endless footpaths within Highdown Gardens In all directions in Highdown Gardens are footpaths heading in all directions. Here you can see the length of just one of them.
